Product Announcements and Previews from Wood-Mizer at the 2024 Customer Meeting

10.07.2024
The Open Days held at Wood-Mizer’s headquarters in Koło have long been popular among professionals and woodworking enthusiasts. These events provide an excellent opportunity to explore the brand's latest products, stay updated on trends in the sawmill industry, and receive expert technical advice. This year was no exception, with attendees enjoying a showcase of new machine models, mobile equipment, and modifications to sawmill lines. The two-day Customer Meeting concluded with great success!
Full Hydraulics, Functionality, and Satisfaction – Introducing the LT20START Sawmill
In early 2024, the LT20START sawmill debuted, combining advanced technology with practical solutions to deliver exceptional wood-cutting quality without significant investment. The LT20START can process logs up to 80 cm in diameter and 6.1 m long, with a complete hydraulic system that ensures easy and swift log handling. This hydraulic package includes three side supports, a central clamp, a turner, two leveling supports, and loading arms. Additionally, the sawmill features an automatic cutting height adjustment device to further streamline the operator's workflow. The LT20START meets market demands by offering everything that woodworking professionals seek.

Compact LX50 Series Sawmills Soon Available in Mobile Versions
The LX50 series sawmills are Wood-Mizer’s most affordable option for self-processing logs into lumber. Their popularity stems from combining a simple design and proven construction solutions with the renowned quality and durability of Wood-Mizer sawmills. The LX50START and LX50SUPER models are ideal for novice sawmill operators and hobbyists needing efficient and precise wood cutting. During the Customer Meeting, a prototype of the mobile LX50 sawmill was unveiled, making it an even more appealing tool for small sawmill businesses and individual users who require wood-cutting capabilities at various locations.

World's First Battery-Powered Sawmill
Wood-Mizer will soon add the LT15 sawmill, powered by lithium-ion batteries, to its product lineup. This innovation responds to the growing popularity of cordless power tools, devices, and vehicles. The rechargeable batteries offer convenience, high performance, and reliability and can be charged using renewable energy sources, such as photovoltaic panels. The LT15 sawmill can operate for up to 8 hours on a single battery pack, and the batteries recharge quickly and efficiently with the included charger. More information about this new product will be available soon in the company's official press releases and social media channels.

Launch of Wood-Mizer EG300 Mobile and EG350 Edgers
One way to increase productivity in a sawmill business is to expand the workshop with additional machines, such as an edger or a multirip. Modern Wood-Mizer edgers efficiently produce boards from the offcuts generated by a band sawmill, allowing business owners to speed up production and reduce wear on the sawmill itself. The users of the LT20, LT40, or LT70 sawmill series often enhance their facilities with a stationary EG300 edger/multirip functionality. Soon, Wood-Mizer will offer two new machines: the mobile version of the EG300 edger and the EG350 edger, which can handle larger materials.
The mobile EG300 edger is based on the popular stationary version and offers the same processing parameters. The main differences include the addition of a chassis with a folding tow hitch, an ergonomic foldable control panel, an upward-folding output table for transport, stabilization supports, and a toolbox.
The stationary EG350 edger is similar in design to the EG300 model but allows processing materials up to 550 mm wide and 100 mm high. This machine is designed for entrepreneurs who appreciate the features of the EG300 edger but require the capability to process larger materials.

Introduction of the New MR250 Industrial Double-Arbor Multirip
The MR250 multirip continues the series started by the MR200 model and is recommended for use in sawmill lines with the WB2000 or WM3500 industrial sawmills. This machine can process prisms up to 650 mm wide and 250 mm high, using 32 saw blades on two shafts. The circular saw blades used in the MR250 can have diameters of 300, 350, or 400 mm. The MR250 multirip is powered by two 55 kW motors, but there is also an option to use 2x 22 kW and 2x 75 kW motors.
Material feed is electric (up to 25 m/min) and is automatically controlled based on motor load. The electric feed system is also used for the infeed and outfeed tables to meet the machine's high efficiency (14-15 m³ of material per hour). The MR250 is operated from a remote control panel and allows for the operation of all machine functions (including electric shaft adjustment).

Sawmilling Lines in New Configurations – More Efficient Than Ever
Traditionally, sawmilling lines with industrial sawmills and auxiliary devices (multirips, sorting tables, loading ramps, etc.) have attracted great interest. The most notable innovation was using 120 mm wide band saw blades with satellite teeth in the WB2000 sawmill. This new configuration allows for higher processing efficiency and greater benefits for large enterprises. Additionally, for the first time, the WB2000 sawmill incorporates servo motors for head up/down feed to improve movement precision and increase speed.

The innovations presented at the Customer Meeting will soon become permanent fixtures in Wood-Mizer's product catalog. We encourage you to follow our channels for updates on implementation timelines.
