September 29, 2025 - Wood-Mizer, a worldwide leader in sawmilling and wood processing solutions, has appointed Ben Brydges as its new Chief Executive Officer. In his new role, Brydges will guide the company into its next phase of strategic growth and product innovation, strengthening Wood-Mizer’s position as a trusted name among sawmill operators, woodworkers, and forestry professionals around the globe.
Established in 1982 in Indiana (USA), with its European manufacturing site in Koło (Poland) in operation since 1990, Wood-Mizer has transformed the market by introducing the portable sawmill. Since then, the company has evolved into a global manufacturing powerhouse. With a deep commitment to customer satisfaction and a workforce defined by technical expertise and dedication, Wood-Mizer delivers sustainable success. From its headquarters and production facilities in Indianapolis and Koło, the company develops and manufactures a wide range of equipment, including portable and industrial sawmills, edgers, multirips, blades, woodworking machinery, and blade maintenance devices. Brydges brings to Wood-Mizer a wealth of executive leadership experience in the automotive, industrial, security, and consumer goods sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Toledo. His professional background includes senior leadership positions at Dana Incorporated, FRAM Group, and, most recently, dormakaba, where he led the North American division from Indianapolis.
Known for his strategic insight in operations, engineering, and team development, Brydges has a proven track record of fostering innovation, assembling high-performing teams, and delivering industry-leading products. His leadership appointment reinforces Wood-Mizer’s mission to offer top-tier equipment and renowned customer service through one of the most extensive support networks in the industry.
